Just because we plan and take action on the "proper" things, "right" things, or what we consider to be the "progressive" things that enhance and/or advance our lives, does NOT mean life will cooperate. In fact, it seems as if the moments we endeavor the most, is when the bottom completely falls out!
Prior to the last 14 days of my life... I had things in balance and ready to take the bull of life by its horns. I had the wheels in motion to finally launch this blog. I re-enrolled in school after a 9-month hiatus [future featured blog - shameless plug]. I was planning my daughter's milestone 5th birthday party. And I was looking forward to a fun, team-building event with my team from work. Every area [well, almost] of my life was moving in the "right" direction.
... all those great things happened. But not without calamity!!!
14 days ago - I laid in the chest pain center at 5am with severe pain that felt like I was in serious danger.
13 days ago - I found out this blog site... that was finally ready... had a minor hiccup when viewed on mobile devices.
5 days ago - (8am) I received a phone call 1 hour before presenting to a group of Vice Presidents at work... perfect timing... that my grandfather's health had significantly declined. (He had a terrible accident on 10/4/14 and is currently hospitalized.)
5 days ago - (5pm) I fell down 6 steps and have hip, knee, and ankle contusions on my right side.
1 day ago - I logged in to complete coursework, only to find the system had dropped my enrollment. With no warning. And the offices were closed for the MLK holiday.
Why am I sharing this??? Because this is one example of life. It doesn't matter that we set out to do good... LIFE will yet happen!
But here's the punch line... what will YOU do when LIFE happens to YOU?
Post a comment and share how you have triumphed adversity. I'd love to hear from you.
